Message from the Head

Hear from our head on what we're doing to support your child during this unprecedented time

I am pleased to be able to share our online teaching and learning programme with you.

The education your child receives will remain at a very high level in an adapted online version. Although our school building may be closed, we are very much still open ‘virtually’ to deliver an excellent programme to your children.

As has been mentioned in a previous communication, nothing can replace the physical classroom setting where so much learning happens through the everyday interactions and reactions to pupil responses. We hope that our pupils continue to love learning through this online platform and that they will endeavour to give of their best despite their teacher not being physically present.

We are currently in such unusual and unprecedented times, which can be extremely unsettling for our children. As well as prioritising their physical health as we remain at home, we also need to be looking after their mental health and wellbeing, keeping a sense of normality and daily routine, whilst providing opportunities for them to flourish.

The coming weeks will undoubtedly contain many new challenges, but we are sure that, by working together as a school community, our children will have the structure they need. It is also key that they enjoy time to be creative and pursue more open-ended activities and exercise, maintaining a happy balance between academic work and play.

Your support and input will continue to be vital and I thank you for that in advance.

Kind regards

Mrs Friel
