Last week our Years 4-6 visited the Design Museum in Kensington. We were split into 2 groups for a workshop and self-guided tour of the museum. The workshop was called Stranger By Design and focussed on designs that are not quite what they seem! Each group had a selection of objects and had to figure out what the object was for (examples included a lemon juicer that looked like a squid and a toilet brush that looked like a potted plant!). The pupils learnt about iconic designers such as Philippe Starck and Alessi.
In the museum, the pupils discovered a clever machine/mirror that projected clothes onto their reflections. After lunch, we walked to Holland park and visited the Kyoto Japanese garden and saw the peacocks that roam free. We finished off the day in the adventure play-park. Everyone had a wonderful day.
