Last week our pupils from Years 1 to 3 visited Kew Gardens.  Year 3 enjoyed a workshop called Maths and the Outdoors where they looked at why leaves can be interesting mathematically. They measured the lengths and found the perimeters of different leaves they had collected and then created a simple 3D line graph to show which leaf had the biggest perimeter. The children also enjoyed lunch and playing in the playground.
They ended the day with a walk around the Palm House and the Lily Pad House. Luckily we had wonderful, sunny weather and all had a great day out.
