Y5 Trip to the Globe Theatre

Tour & Workshop

Our Year 5 had a wonderful trip to the Globe Theatre yesterday. They started with a tour, learning about when the theatre was built (and rebuilt), what it was made from, and why it was designed in such a way. The class discovered how religious symbolism was prevalent in the design and which productions were staged in the theatre.
This was followed by a lively action workshop in which pupils used their body language to depict various scenes and emotions, then discussed the tone and pace of the play and why certain words or themes were used. They also had an opportunity to perform one of the early scenes in the play using what they had learnt.
