Everything we do is geared around helping your child to be their best.
We are Clifton Lodge, a small prep school based in Ealing, caring for children aged 3 to 11 years old. we use the word small on purpose – we see 'small' as our biggest advantage; our size allows us to provide an environment which makes our children feel safe, secure, comfortable and at home. We see that as being instrumental to laying great foundations for personal wellbeing, the ability to thrive, which in turn leads to achievement.
Children are taught by a team of hard working and dedicated staff who pull out all the stops to ensure each child’s needs are catered to.
But don’t just take our word for it. Take the word, instead, of the Independent Schools’ Inspectorate who visited us recently and decided to award the school their highest accolade of double “Excellent” in both the academic and personal development of the children. We are so delighted to have been commended in the Independent School of the Year awards, category 'Small Independent School of the Year 2024'. This recognises our commitment to nurture every child to 'Be their Best'.
We are very proud of our Reception children who achieved 93% Good Level of Development (GLD) in 2024. Nationally, the figure for GLD was 67%.
11+ Results 2025
Mr Belsito joined Clifton Lodge School in September 2022. He started his teaching career at our school and was delighted to return many years later as Head. He has considerable experience and knowledge of the local area and schools through his senior roles in both state and independent schools in Ealing.

FACILITIES & LOCATION
An environment that makes all feel welcome
Our school is located in an extended double-fronted Victorian home in Ealing, close to the centre and only 10 minutes walk from Ealing Broadway Station (Elizabeth Line, Central and District Lines). There is ample parking (payment by phone or by meter) directly across the road, opposite the school.
The school provides a wonderful range of facilities to enhance pupils’ learning. Our classrooms are bright and fully equipped, including a science lab and art studio.
A large playground with a canopied area gives pupils much needed space for play, events, assemblies and PE. In addition we are sited opposite Walpole Park which we regularly use for outdoor learning.

Years 3 and 4 Cricket Success!
Well done to our Year 3 and 4 pupils who played brilliantly in their cricket matches against Ashton House School. Out of six matches, Clifton Lodge came away with an impressive four wins! The children showed great skill, teamwork, and sportsmanship throughout. A big thank you to all the parents who came along to support!

Our Year 5 & 6 pupils are having a wonderful time at PGL Osmington Bay . They have already enjoyed the beach and taken part in activities including wall climbing, aeroball, abseiling, street surfing & keelboat sailing. The weather has been perfect!

We are so proud of Emma in our Year 5 class, who won 1st Prize in the Grade 4 Violin/Viola category at the Ealing Festival on Saturday, 10th May. Emma played the Spring Song by F.Bridge with her teacher, Ulyana Dawson accompanying her on piano. Many congratulations Emma.

At Clifton Lodge we have been learning about VE Day and the sacrifices made by the Second World War generation. Our Year 6 pupils gave a moving assembly last Friday, which included child evacuations and the experiences of those who lived at that time.

Pupils from Years 3 & 4 had an amazing time meeting the author, Cliff McNish @cliffmcnish. During their visit, they focused on how to construct an engaging story and create strong, memorable characters. Cliff shared valuable tips and techniques that inspired the children to think more creatively about their own writing. They were excited to learn from a real author and asked lots of thoughtful questions. The skills they gained from the session will help support and improve their writing in the future. Thank you so much to North Ealing Primary School for hosting this event.

Happy 50th Birthday to our wonderful Head, Mr Belsito 🙂🎂🎈🎁
Clifton Lodge School surprised our Head this morning with a special assembly to celebrate his birthday. The children learnt to sing `Happy Birthday` in Italian and each year group did a short performance for him. Mr Belsito received a book of messages created by the children and the whole school celebrated with cupcakes for this special occasion. We wish Mr Belsito a wonderful day, hip hip hurray!

Huge Congratulations to Caspian in Year 2 who was cast as `Sorrow` in the award winning production of Madama Butterfly, at Richmond Theatre. His role involved being on stage for 25 minutes, in front of an audience of 850 people.
Caspian’s quote:
“It was exciting to be on stage for my first time, in front of 100`s of people. I was shy but I did it! I had so much fun being with my mum behind the stage and in the dressing room. Madame butterfly was so loud and had lovely make up.”
Caspian`s Mother:
“Such a proud moment for our family! Caspian’s first theatre performance in Madama Butterfly was incredibly special—and what a powerful and emotional production to be part of. Caspian’s experience on stage and my experience behind the scenes with him was amazing. The wonderful team at Stagecoach guided us both through the process and were a fantastic support in building him up and keeping me calm. It is a huge accomplishment for Caspian and hopefully the start of an amazing journey in the arts.”
