We aim to provide pupils with a long-lasting love of learning

Clifton Lodge School provides co-educational, personalised learning in a safe and friendly environment with small class sizes.

Pupils join us from Nursery (aged 3+) and continue through the school to Year 6 where they focus on 11+ preparation for entry to selective senior schools.

We encourage a growth mindset which will develop children's resilience and curiosity, cultivating skills for the future. Each classroom has a focus area where teachers encourage pupils to show resilience and provide strategies to help them. We use trips, external professionals and workshops to build natural curiosities and bring the curriculum to life.

We have an ongoing programme of digital learning throughout the school, with a meaningful use of technologies which encourage innovation, creativity and interactive collaboration. All our pupils from Year 3 upwards with their own personal laptop for home and school use, children up to Year 2 benefit from devices used in each classroom to support their digital learning.

Specialist Teaching

We offer a stimulating and exciting curriculum in well-resourced classrooms

Maths and English have their prominent place in our timetable, but we highly value each subject, which is evident in our inspiring Core Knowledge curriculum. This curriculum is designed to develop curiosity and motivate a desire for learning in our pupils.

From Nursery upwards, we offer subject specialist teaching in French, Music and Sports. Pupils in Pre-Prep, Years 1 & 2, have Drama and Art specialists. In Prep, for pupils in Year 3 upwards, Science is taught by a specialist and in Years 5 & 6 where the emphasis is on key 11+ preparation, we have specialist teaching in English and Mathematics.
